Do you need to know how to classify product for trade compliance? Do you classify product now, but know that you can improve your level of skill? Classifying product for outbound or inbound international transactions, including trade programs can be complex and classification errors can be costly in both time and money. During this workshop, Bonnie Anderson will guide you through the classification process and the tools to support your conclusions. After lunch, she and Deb Thompson, will facilitate a workshop where you will practice your classification skills.

Who should attend?

If you are new or need a review, when you leave this workshop, you will be comfortable classifying your products for export or imports. So, if you are working in business exporting, importing, logistics or doing any customs brokerage – this workshop is for you.

Exercises and Practice – The afternoon session

Work with the instructor and other industry professionals through a series of scenarios, so that you will leave this program comfortable with the process of classification for international inbound or outbound shipments and international trade programs – and know what to do when the classification situation is difficult. If you wish, bring a wi-fi enabled laptop or any print materials you may use for classification.

About the Speaker

Bonnie Anderson, Trade Compliance Consultant, WTH International Services, LLC, www.wthinternational.net

A graduate of Metropolitan State University, Bonnie is a seasoned professional, having been employed by several high technology manufacturing companies, including 10 years for a military defense contractor. Bonnie has over 39 years experience in international trade, holding various positions in International Contracts, International Traffic/Logistics, Offshore Procurement, International Program Management and Import/Export Trade Compliance. Bonnie regularly speaks at various trade seminars, is licensed by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities to instruct in International Trade and is an adjunct instructor at St. Paul College. She is a current member and former director of the Midwest Global Trade Association and a member of the Twin Cities Import Export Council.
